Around 120 students from 70 public and private HEIs of Klang Valley had attended the dialogue session. The dialogue session, entitled “Listening to The Voice of Leaners in Quality Assuring Higher Education” was chaired by Y.B. Dato' Saifuddin Abdullah, the Deputy Minister of Higher Education.
Also present at the dialogue session were Y.Bhg Dato’ Dr Syed Ahmad Hussein, MQA Chief Executive Officer and his deputy, Prof. Zita Mohd Fahmi.

Among the issues raised by the participants were regarding the strict entry requirements for certain programmes, the execution of Compulsory Subjects, and students involvement in higher education policy making.

Y.B. Dato' Saifuddin also praised MQA’s initiative to organized this dialogue session as it is in line with the new governance practice which emphasize on the involvement of all major sectors and stakeholders in policy making.

Thus, he hoped for MQA to reconsider on the establishment of a committee which involves HEI student from all over the country to ensure all the issues and efforts to enhance the quality in HEI can be discussed from time to time in line with the student centric quality assurance principle.

And the mean time, he also hoped that a consultation committee at HEI and faculties level which involve the student can be implemented in order to increase their participation in any decision making related to them.
